Truthfully, the idea of fall and winter makes me a little sad. With the change in seasons comes the annual winterizing of the garden that transforms my yard into a somewhat depressing, lackluster space. But there is a cure…plant flowers specifically for the winter that flourish in the cold!
\n\n\n\n
Gardeners in warmer, southern climates certainly have winter gardening easier than those of us who have chosen to withstand snow and freezing temps. They have a much wider selection of flowering plants suitable for their climates. Finding plants hardy enough to survive single-digit temperatures is more challenging, although not impossible. It just takes some research and a bit of creativity to design a flowering winter garden.
\n\n\n\n

Crocus. Knowing the causes of your grass allergies may make it easier to deal with them.
\n\n\n\n
What causes grass allergies? The simple answer in most cases is grass pollen. Pollen allergies are the most common. Plants, including grasses, release pollen to fertilize other plants. The Weed Science Society of America says, “For the 40-50 million allergy sufferers in America, inhaling airborne allergens can produce a variety of allergic symptoms. Because pollen grains are small and buoyant, they can remain airborne for hundreds of miles.” Breathing in pollen triggers an allergic reaction. and this can cause your immune system to attack.
\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n
Grass Allergy Symptoms
\n\n\n\n

Nasal congestion or stuffy nose

Runny nose

Sneezing

Itchy throat

Red, itchy or watery eyes

Coughing

Headaches

Chest tightening

Trouble breathing

\n\n\n\n
Grass allergies can also cause rashes. This often happens when the skin comes into direct contact with grass. The rashes are usually raised welts or hives, sometimes red and itchy. This kind of grass allergy can also affect your pets.
\n\n\n\n
In rare cases, a grass allergy can cause a reaction similar to anaphylaxis, which is defined as an acute reaction to an antigen. This can occur when grass proteins enter the bloodstream through scraped skin.
\n\n\n\n

\n
Types of Grasses that Trigger Allergies
\n\n\n\n

Bermuda

Kentucky bluegrass

Timothy grass

Rye

Orchard

Johnson

Sweet Vernal

\n

\n\n\n\n
Grass pollen season usually happens in northern climates of the United States in late spring or early summer. Grasses can pollinate in the southern United States throughout the year, triggering allergy symptoms in any season.
\n\n\n\n
Treatments for Grass Allergies
\n\n\n\n
When it comes to grass allergies, you can treat and decrease the symptoms. The best treatment for is prevention. This means avoid coming into contact with grasses that trigger an allergic reaction. This can be challenging since unlike food allergies, it’s nearly impossible to avoid spending time outdoors. Here are some tips for times when avoiding grass is impossible:
\n\n\n\n
Limit Exposure
\n\n\n\n
Have someone else mow your lawn, and keep your lawn as short as possible. Shorter grass usually releases less pollen. Shield your skin and eyes from grass pollen by wearing protective clothing. This includes long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses. This is especially important when you know you’ll be in contact with grass. Dry laundry inside rather than outside. Clothes, towels, and sheets can attract pollen.
\n\n\n\n
Watch Pollen Counts
\n\n\n\n
You can track pollen counts in your area online or through your local forecast. On days when the grass pollen count is high, stay inside if possible. If that’s not possible, consider wearing a face mask. This will help protect you from inhaling pollen and other allergy-causing particles.
\n\n\n\n

Credit: “Because Allergies,” bloomsberries, CC by-ND 2.0

\n\n\n\n
Keep Pollen Outside
\n\n\n\n
To keep from bringing pollen into your home, remove shoes and change your clothes after spending time outdoors. Showering is also a good idea to wash pollen from your skin and hair. Use a towel to wipe off pets before allowing them inside, and keep them off your furniture and bed. Wash sheets and vacuum carpets at least once a week.

\n\n\n\n
Keep doors and windows closed during lawn mowing and yard work sessions, and when pollen counts are high. If you have air conditioning, replace the filters every few months. Consider using filters designed to trap smaller particles such as pollen. These are called “high energy air particulate filters,” or HEPA for short.
\n\n\n\n
Treat Allergy Symptoms
\n\n\n\n
For mild allergic reactions and seasonal allergies, you can use over-the-counter medications to treat the symptoms. Options include antihistamines, decongestants, and nasal sprays. Some of these may have side effects such as drowsiness. For more severe or longer-lasting problems, you may want to ask your doctor for help. Possible treatments include nasal corticosteroid sprays, prescription antihistamines or decongestants, and allergy immunotherapy. If you’re experiencing chest tightness or trouble breathing, get medical attention right away.
\n\n\n\n
Allergy shots are the most common and most effective type of allergy immunotherapy. The shots, called subcutaneous immunotherapy, deliver a small amount of an allergen into the skin of your arm. The amount of allergen gradually increases over time. This helps your body build up a tolerance to the allergen. Because of the slight risk of anaphylactic shock, allergists administer the shots in their office. The course of treatment lasts several years, but it has proven effective in reducing or eliminating allergic reactions. Allergy tablets (sublingual immunotherapy) work in a similar way. Instead of shots, tablets that dissolve under the tongue deliver the allergen.
\n\n\n\n
Knowing the causes of grass pollen allergies and ways to help prevent them can go a long way in easing your symptoms. It may just help you get through allergy season with a lot less suffering.
\n","title":"Grass Allergies: The Causes and Cures","featured_media":{"localFile":{"childImageSharp":{"fluid":{"aspectRatio":1.5005861664712778,"src":"/static/7e20ee085c12c69df0474ef77e8bacc1/1789c/meadow-123280_1280.jpg","srcSet":"/static/7e20ee085c12c69df0474ef77e8bacc1/107df/meadow-123280_1280.jpg 320w,\n/static/7e20ee085c12c69df0474ef77e8bacc1/293e9/meadow-123280_1280.jpg 500w,\n/static/7e20ee085c12c69df0474ef77e8bacc1/f2cbb/meadow-123280_1280.jpg 800w,\n/static/7e20ee085c12c69df0474ef77e8bacc1/1789c/meadow-123280_1280.jpg 960w,\n/static/7e20ee085c12c69df0474ef77e8bacc1/356ef/meadow-123280_1280.jpg 1280w","srcWebp":"/static/7e20ee085c12c69df0474ef77e8bacc1/1dd6e/meadow-123280_1280.webp","srcSetWebp":"/static/7e20ee085c12c69df0474ef77e8bacc1/67b76/meadow-123280_1280.webp 320w,\n/static/7e20ee085c12c69df0474ef77e8bacc1/8df11/meadow-123280_1280.webp 500w,\n/static/7e20ee085c12c69df0474ef77e8bacc1/98a65/meadow-123280_1280.webp 800w,\n/static/7e20ee085c12c69df0474ef77e8bacc1/1dd6e/meadow-123280_1280.webp 960w,\n/static/7e20ee085c12c69df0474ef77e8bacc1/93f70/meadow-123280_1280.webp 1280w","sizes":"(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px"}}}},"yoast_meta":{"yoast_wpseo_title":"Grass Allergies: The Causes and Cures | Wikilawn","yoast_wpseo_metadesc":""}}},{"node":{"id":"a210566d-8556-544b-abf9-97ed52f969ca","slug":"the-worst-bugs-in-dallas-and-how-to-get-rid-of-them","path":"/lawn-care/tx/dallas/the-worst-bugs-in-dallas-and-how-to-get-rid-of-them/","status":"publish","template":"","format":"standard","author":{"description":"Born and raised in Springfield, Illinois, Kimberly Magerl enjoys growing fruits and vegetables in her garden. Be sure to identify the type of pest you are dealing with before selecting your removal method.
\n\n\n\n
It is always advisable to hire a professional pest control company to perform quarterly treatments inside and outside of your home. These methods are the safest and most effective for your family and pets.
\n\n\n\n
Organic Treatment Options
\n\n\n\n
Experts agree home pest control is necessary, and many Dallas-Fort Worth critters can be prevented. Organic pest control has come a long way and is ‌safer than chemical treatment options for your pets and children. However, it is also typically less effective.
\n\n\n\n
Check out some available organic pest control options:
\n\n\n\n
\n
Pyrethrin: This plant-based insecticide deters many pests with its scent, killing on contact.
\n\n\n\n
Neem oil: Use this tree-derived poison to inhibit the growth cycles of insects and limit their populations.
\n\n\n\n
Spinosad: Spray this natural bacteria on plants, including fruits and vegetables to kill insects.
\n\n\n\n
Diatomaceous earth: This dry pest control method made from algae kills pests on contact. Unfortunately, it affects beneficial insects like butterflies, honey bees, and ladybugs.
\n\n\n\n
Heat treatment: Professional pest control method for fleas, bed bugs, and other large infestations.
\n
\n\n\n\n
Pest Control Chemical Treatments
\n\n\n\n
Chemical pest control treatments are more effective than organic techniques. They control rodents and insects, stopping the spread of dangerous bacteria and diseases.
\n\n\n\n
Some popular chemical treatments include:
\n\n\n\n
\n
Granulated insecticide: Sprinkle this fast-acting insecticide near nests and scavengers’ food sources.
\n\n\n\n
Repellent pesticide: Fast-acting insecticides that kill on contact and disrupt pheromone trails.
\n\n\n\n
Non-repellent pesticide: Slow-acting insecticides that cross over surfaces, infesting nests and maintaining pheromone trails for maximum effectiveness.
\n\n\n\n
Bait: Bait with integrated traps works for indoor and outdoor pest control to attract and trap insects and rodents.
\n\n\n\n
Rodenticide: High-toxicity pesticides designed to kill rodents. These are best left to professionals. They kill rats, mice, squirrels, and other small animals, including dogs and cats.
\n\n\n\n
Fogging: Also known as bug bombs, foggers release aerosolized propellant insecticides to fumigate a contained area.
\n
\n\n\n\n
11 Worst Bugs in Dallas
\n\n\n\n
1. These reddish-brown and black ants grow to ⅛ inch and have distinctive, heart-shaped abdomens. They emit an odor when threatened and raise their abdomen over their head in a feat of acrobatics. Omnivorous colonies of a few thousand members eat honeydew from aphids, dead or living insects, and mealybugs.
\n\n\n\n
Signs of an Acrobat Ant Infestation
\n\n\n\n
Acrobat ants rarely nest in the open or enter homes. They love moisture and live under rocks, logs, trees, and wood piles. The most obvious sign of an infestation is an ant trail. These foragers travel up to 100 feet from their nest in search of resources.
\n\n\n\n
How to Prevent Acrobat Ants
\n\n\n\n
The easiest way to prevent these moisture-loving pests is to eliminate sources of standing water, keep your yard clear of fallen branches and logs, and store firewood at least 5 inches from the ground.
\n\n\n\n
How to Eliminate Acrobat Ants
\n\n\n\n
If you are unlucky and find these predatory ants around your home, opt for a foam insecticide sprayed directly on the nest indoors or a non-repellent pesticide outdoors.
\n\n\n\n
Insect type: Crematogaster
\n\n\n\n
Habitat: Moist areas under rocks, logs, trees, or wood piles
\n\n\n\n
Danger: Low; emit an odor when threatened, occasionally bites when disturbed
\n\n\n\n
Removal: Repellent and non-repellent pesticides
\n\n\n\n
2. These insects love tall grass, debris piles, and bushes.
\n\n\n\n
How to Prevent Fleas
\n\n\n\n
Prevent fleas by grooming your pets, using year-round veterinary flea control, and keeping your lawn maintained. Trim bushes and shrubs and keep bird feeders away from your property.
\n\n\n\n
How to Eliminate Fleas
\n\n\n\n
The best removal method for fleas is propellant insecticide. These biting insects have oval-shaped bodies, long legs, and wings. They thrive in moist areas with a lot of flowering vegetation, including ponds, wooded areas, and near swimming pools. These beneficial arachnids are vital to the ecosystem. They have eight legs and two distinct body regions. The most common species found in the Metroplex are black widows, brown recluses, and wolf spiders.
\n\n\n\n
Signs of a Spider Infestation
\n\n\n\n
Most spider species are not a direct threat to humans. However, the brown recluse and black widow spiders are venomous. Their bites can cause serious reactions in some people.
\n\n\n\n
If you notice webs and have a spider infestation in your yard, it is a signal you have a larger underlying infestation. Spiders move into an area where large populations of insects live and love secluded areas to hide, like garden sheds, tall grasses, covered porches, basements, garages, and crawl spaces.
\n\n\n\n
How to Prevent Spiders
\n\n\n\n
Prevent spiders by eliminating hiding places, maintaining your lawn, and reducing the number of smaller pests in your yard.
\n\n\n\n
How to Eliminate Spiders
\n\n\n\n
Knock out an indoor infestation with a repellent pesticide or use a non-repellent pesticide outdoors.
\n\n\n\n
Insect type: Araneae
\n\n\n\n
Habitat: Adaptable; seek shelters and areas to hide
\n\n\n\n
Danger: Moderate; venomous spiders can cause allergic reactions in some people
\n\n\n\n
Removal: Repellent and non-repellent pesticides
\n\n\n\n
10. As the year began, more than 95% of the state was NOT in drought, and water levels were at their highest since the early 1990s. It’s certainly a very different picture than it was 10 years ago when Texas survived intense drought across much of the state.
\n\n\n\n
That doesn’t mean you can go wild with your sprinklers and water your yard every day. Most local governments learned their lesson in that bad drought — and many cities have watering restrictions that remain in place.
\n\n\n\n
Dallas
\n\n\n\n
Texas was still in that bad drought when the Dallas City Council passed permanent watering restrictions for homes and businesses inside city limits. It was an attempt to be proactive about the water supply. Now years later, it looks like it has helped. And don’t worry too much about those summer days with highs in the triple digits. Lawn care experts say your grass only needs a long drink of water every five days or so.
\n\n\n\n
Everyone may turn on the sprinklers twice a week in Dallas:
\n\n\n\n

Those whose addresses end in an even number can water on Sundays and Thursdays.

Those with addresses ending in an odd number can use their sprinklers on Saturdays and Wednesdays.

In the rare case that there isn’t an address — that sprinkler schedule is Sundays and Thursdays too.

You can also use drip irrigation, soaker hoses, or hand water any day of the week without risking a fine.

\n\n\n\n

Source

\n\n\n\n
Plano
\n\n\n\n
The city of Plano also has recommended watering guidelines for 2019, and like Dallas, it’s a twice-weekly schedule:
\n\n\n\n

Addresses ending in an even number should water on Mondays and Thursdays.

Addresses ending in an odd number are scheduled to let it sprinkle on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Watering between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the hottest hours of the day is prohibited. It’s also bad for the lawn since watering in the heat of the day tends to put stress on the grass. The grass needs time to absorb the water when it’s cool, and watering at night just invites mildew and disease.

You can water by drip irrigation or hand, any day of the week.

\n\n\n\n

Source

\n\n\n\n
Irving
\n\n\n\n
In the City of Irving:
\n\n\n\n

Watering is prohibited between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. from April 1 to Oct. 31. (It’s for the same reason it’s illegal in Plano. Those are the hottest times of the day, during the hottest time of the year in a region that’s famous for its heat.

No one may turn on their sprinklers in Irving on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

People with addresses ending in even numbers may use the sprinkler on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

People at addresses ending in odd numbers can do it on Wednesday and Sundays.

\n\n\n\n
The city also recommends planting low-maintenance, drought-resistant plants for your yard. Native flowers like hibiscus and verbena are easy to care for and need little watering. It’s also helpful if you install plumbing fixtures and appliances that conserve water.
\n\n\n\n
If you live in another city in the Metroplex that isn’t mentioned here, it’s pretty easy to search your city or county government’s website for watering restrictions. The restrictions are likely to be similar to the ones enacted by Dallas, Plano, and Irving. In a drought-prone state like Texas, we’re all in it together — and every drop of water counts.
\n\n\n\n
Do you want to know more about lawn care in the DFW? Back then, family games ruled summer in the yard, and no one would dream of not owning a game set to bust out along with the barbecue. It’s time to bring back the good old days by bringing out the best yard games.
\n\n\n\n
Exercising is becoming rare, starting in childhood. Pediatric occupational therapist Angela Hanscom says, “Ideally, kids should be playing outside three hours each day.” She also believes the skills gained in play help children learn how to make friends and successfully interact with others.
\n\n\n\n
So how do you pick the lawn games the whole family will enjoy? As long as you have two functional thumbs and an Amazon account, a world of yard games new and old await you.
\n\n\n\n
The Classic Lawn Games
\n\n\n\n

Badminton

Bocce Ball

Cornhole

Croquet

Frisbee

Lawn Darts

\n\n\n\n
What baby boomer doesn’t remember growing up playing badminton? All you need is a net, birdies, and racquets. Portable badminton sets allow you to take the game to the neighborhood park or a friend’s house. Bocce ball is another portable game that comes with a carrying case. It’s history dates back to ancient Egypt, and it’s a national pastime in France and can be played on a court or a lawn. Pack it up and take it to your next tailgate party.

\n\n\n\n

One of the joys of cornhole is the length of the throw can be instantly changed to match the size and skills of the players. This classic game is arguably the most popular bean bag toss game of all time. The rules are simple: Throw bean bags toward corn hole boards, aiming for the hole. A deceptively simple, undeniably great game.

\n\n\n\n

In “Alice in Wonderland,” croquet had added degrees of difficulty with flamingo mallets and live hedgehog balls.

\n\n\n\n
While some form of croquet has been around since the 1300s, modern croquet caught on in 17th century England. It was such a craze that, according to the London Telegraph, “only tobacco smoke spread faster through the English empire.”
\n\n\n\n
It maintained its popularity with help from “Alice in Wonderland” and the movie “Heathers,” and no wonder: It’s a cutthroat yard game disguised as a mild-mannered, upper-crust entertainment. Play on a large lawn, but in a version of extreme croquet, almost anything goes. Six players play at a time. If you prefer a more aerobic game, grab a frisbee and head out to the backyard. You’ll need good hand-eye coordination, and a willingness to jump and the flying disk. Step it up, and get a team together for a game of ultimate Frisbee.

\n\n\n\n
The original game of lawn darts was a longtime favorite but was deemed too dangerous to sell after one accident too many. Fortunately for us, there are versions of the game available with weighted darts that lack the metal spikes that made the original so dangerous. Same old fun, without the trips to the ER.
\n\n\n\n
Modern Lawn Games
\n\n\n\n

Flickin’ Chicken

Giant Connect Four

Giant Jenga

Ladder Toss

Spikeball

\n\n\n\n

You must be this tall to play Connect Four. And you get to toss rubber chickens. Great for the whole family and little athletic ability required. Another kids’ favorite is giant connect four. It’s not the most portable lawn game, but worth the trouble.
\n\n\n\n

Timberrrrrr! Just like the tabletop version, only much bigger, this is one of those outdoor games that you can play with two or 20 people.
\n\n\n\n
Another great game for parties and camping trips, ladder toss is a game where you toss bolas (which look like large golf balls) at a “ladder” for points. Try your hand (or hands) at spikeball. This reinvented game from the ’70s got a boost from appearing on the TV show “Shark Tank.” A cross between volleyball and four square, it’s best played two-on-two. Teams take turns bouncing the ball off a mini trampoline-like net and your opponent tries to return it. You score points when the other team misses.
\n\n\n\n

\n
Choose the Best Yard Game: 5 Questions
\n\n\n\n
Start by asking yourself the following:
\n\n\n\n

How athletic are the players? To avoid over-exertion, stick to cornhole, croquet, or ladder toss. Spikeball and badminton are for players seeking more cardio.

How much space do you have? Frisbee, croquet, and bocce ball are for bigger yards.

How old are the people who will be playing? Small children will certainly enjoy giant connect four and giant Jenga more than games that require a lot of hand-eye coordination, while much older players may not appreciate a vigorous game of bocce ball.

How many people will be playing? Some games have unlimited numbers of players, and others are more suited to two-on-two or even one-on-one.

How competitive are the players? The vegetation adapts well to Colorado’s changing climates, soil conditions, and environment. Native species need little maintenance or water and are more resistant to pests and diseases than invasive plants. They also lure local wildlife — birds, pollinators such as bees and mammals (bunnies and squirrels.) Increasing urbanization leads to lost natural ecosystems. Planting native species ensures our natural resources will be around for the next generation.
\n\n\n\n
Do you have questions about garden care? Do-it-yourselfers must use a hose nozzle with a shut-off valve.
\n\n\n\n
The city makes an exception if you’ve planted new seed or sod. You can water as necessary for up to 21 days, but you must call Denver Water and request a watering exemption.
\n\n\n\n
You may water vegetable gardens and flower beds by hand — by way of a watering can or hose with a shut-off nozzle — during restricted lawn watering hours.
\n\n\n\n
Aurora and Lakewood Restrictions
\n\n\n\n
Aurora
\n\n\n\n
The rules in Aurora and Denver mirror those in Denver, but Aurora Water goes a step further by fining homeowners who break the rules. The first mistake will result in a warning. From there, the fines go up to as much as $250 and even a possible summons. Don’t even think about wasting water in Aurora.
\n\n\n\n
Lakewood
\n\n\n\n
Lakewood citizens get their water from Denver Water through third party providers, and they generally follow Denver Water’s rules.
\n\n\n\n
Thanks to a late spring snowfall, Greeley, Boulder, and Broomfield don’t have mandatory restrictions in place this year, but Larimer County continues to ask residents to practice xeriscaping and plant native flowers that don’t require much maintenance or water.
\n\n\n\n
Tips
\n\n\n\n
A healthy lawn in the metro area requires attention to detail. Irrigation is only half the battle. Regular mowing and weeding will keep your grass healthy. It’s also best to plant Kentucky bluegrass and perennial ryegrass will thrive in our summers and survive our cold winters. Fine blended fescue is also great for lawns along the Front Range since it needs little watering and holds up well. You should only need to water two days a week, three at the most. All three varieties only need about 2.5 inches of water a week. Keep in mind, perennials and shrubs need about half as much water as grass. Too much water will drown or rot root systems and can deprive the soil of needed oxygen.
\n\n\n\n
Speaking of soil, the pH balance of it will also determine the health and lushness of your lawn. Your lawn and garden soils are acidic if they test below 7.0, and alkaline if the number is above that. In Denver, Lakewood and Aurora, soil tends to be alkaline and needs to have composting material added to bring it down to a pH level in which grass will thrive. Your local extension office can test a soil sample for you.
\n\n\n\n

Source

\n\n\n\n
Even if your city has only enacted voluntary lawn watering restrictions, you can still abide by them and have a verdant, lovely lawn all summer and into the fall. As long as you’ve aerated in the spring and fall, two or three deep waterings should be enough to keep the roots hydrated. There’s a reason the city asks you to refrain from turning on the sprinklers between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Watering during the heat of the day causes the moisture to evaporate too quickly, thereby wasting water. Watering at night is also a bad idea since the moisture will sit on the lawn too long, inviting pests and disease. Find the right balance, so there’s enough water left for our crops and rafting.
\n\n\n\n
Want to learn more about creating a lush, green lawn in the Metro area? However, lavender requires a good dose of lighting so placing them on a windowsill is a good idea.
\n
For more information on fragrant houseplants and gardening tips, check out Michelle’s website: https://www.gardeningleave.org\t\t
\n","title":"Best Fragrant Houseplants for Your Home","featured_media":null,"yoast_meta":{"yoast_wpseo_title":"Best Fragrant Houseplants for Your Home | Wikilawn","yoast_wpseo_metadesc":""}}}],"postCity":{"node":{"name":"Evergreen","slug":"evergreen","state":{"name":"Colorado","slug":"co"},"suburbs":[],"parentCity":{"name":"Denver","slug":"denver","suburbs":[{"name":"Deer Trail","slug":"deer-trail"},{"name":"Dupont","slug":"dupont"},{"name":"Broomfield","slug":"broomfield"},{"name":"Idaho Springs","slug":"idaho-springs"},{"name":"Buffalo Creek","slug":"buffalo-creek"},{"name":"Kiowa","slug":"kiowa"},{"name":"Dumont","slug":"dumont"},{"name":"Agate","slug":"agate"},{"name":"Eastlake","slug":"eastlake"},{"name":"Franktown","slug":"franktown"},{"name":"Bennett","slug":"bennett"},{"name":"Westminster","slug":"westminster"},{"name":"Golden","slug":"golden"},{"name":"Evergreen","slug":"evergreen"},{"name":"Aurora","slug":"aurora"},{"name":"Henderson","slug":"henderson"},{"name":"Larkspur","slug":"larkspur"},{"name":"Bailey","slug":"bailey"},{"name":"Conifer","slug":"conifer"},{"name":"Fairplay","slug":"fairplay"},{"name":"Thornton","slug":"thornton"},{"name":"Black Hawk","slug":"black-hawk"},{"name":"Arvada","slug":"arvada"},{"name":"Brighton","slug":"brighton"},{"name":"Commerce City","slug":"commerce-city"},{"name":"Castle Rock","slug":"castle-rock"},{"name":"Elizabeth","slug":"elizabeth"},{"name":"Englewood","slug":"englewood"},{"name":"Lone Tree","slug":"lone-tree"},{"name":"Littleton","slug":"littleton"},{"name":"Morrison","slug":"morrison"},{"name":"Wheat Ridge","slug":"wheat-ridge"}]}}}}}}
